Meal planning for iPhone
Dinner is already decided.
Big Spoon plans your week, writes the recipes around what your household actually eats, and turns the whole thing into a grocery list sorted the way your store is. You just cook.
Coming soon to the App Store
One email, the day it goes live. Nothing else.
You’ve had this afternoon before.
It’s four o’clock. Someone asks what’s for dinner and you’ve been half-thinking about it since lunch. You open three apps, scroll past recipes you’re never going to make, and order Thai instead.
Big Spoon does that thinking on Sunday so you don’t have to do it on Wednesday.
What it does
The whole job, from Sunday night to the stove.
Meal planning
Fill the week yourself or let the app do it. It won’t put chicken thighs on the table four nights running, and anything you don’t want takes one tap to swap.
Grocery lists
The plan turns into the list on its own. Onions from three recipes arrive as one line with the total, ordered the way your store is laid out.
An assistant that knows your kitchen
Ask what to make with half a cabbage and yesterday’s rice. Ask for a swap when the buttermilk is gone. Say “plan my week” and it will.
Also in the box
Smaller things you’ll use every week.
Import from a link
Paste a URL from any food blog and you get the recipe without the eight paragraphs about the author’s trip to Sicily.
Or from a photo
Point your camera at a cookbook page or a card in your grandmother’s handwriting and Big Spoon types it up for you.
Tailored from day one
Gluten-free, cooking for five, nobody in the house touches cilantro. Say it once during setup and every suggestion after that respects it.
Shared with your household
Your partner opens their phone to the same plan and the same grocery list. One subscription covers everyone under the roof.
One recipe box
Generated, imported, or typed in by hand, every recipe ends up in the same searchable place.
How it works
Set it up once and the week takes care of itself.
- 1
Tell it about your kitchen
Dietary needs, how many you cook for, how confident you are at the stove, and the foods that are a hard no. Two minutes.
- 2
Fill the recipe box
Generate a few, import the ones you already love, and add the family staples you know by heart.
- 3
Plan the week
Drop meals onto the calendar yourself, or let Big Spoon fill it and change what you want.
- 4
Shop and cook
The list is waiting when you walk into the store. Check things off, go home, make dinner.
Questions
Before you sign up.
- What does Big Spoon cost?
- Big Spoon Pro is a subscription, and one subscription covers everyone in your household. The price is shown in the app before anything is charged, and you manage it through your Apple account.
- Is there an Android version?
- Not right now. Big Spoon is an iPhone app. If that ever changes, the waitlist hears first.
- Do I have to use the AI features?
- No. You can type in every recipe yourself and drag meals onto the week by hand. The AI is there for the nights you would rather not think about it.
- Can my partner see the same plan?
- Yes. A household shares its recipes, meal plan, and grocery list, so you are both looking at the same week. One subscription covers the household.
- Where do my recipes live?
- In your account on our servers, so they follow you to any iPhone you sign in on. Delete your account and they are deleted with it.
